Combe Down is holding a unique Green Doors Day on Saturday 22nd September 2018. As well as residents opening their eco-renovated homes, Wessex Water are offering a guided tour of the award winning sustainable HQ, and Combe Grove Permaculture are giving a tour of their plans for the hotel’s extensive grounds.
Three green homes and two impressive high-profile businesses are opening their doors and gardens for a day in Combe Down and Odd Down. Look around and hear from home owners how they approached the challenge of making their homes warmer, free from damp, cheaper to run and with lower carbon emissions. At 11am don’t miss the guided tour of the Wessex Water HQ and see their multi-award winning sustainable building. You can round the day off with the 3pm tour of the stunning grounds of Combe Grove Hotel, now a charity with sustainability at its heart. Hear about the ambitious plans for permaculture throughout the extensive gardens and woods.
We have a dedicated website with descriptions of each participating property, and a summary of the ecological and energy efficiency measures, visiting arrangements and tour start times. Use the summary and map to plan your day.
If you can help us by being a steward for some of the day at one of the homes, get in touch via our contact page.
